Privacy Policy

CAW Academy (“the app”) is a study aid for EASA continuing-airworthiness regulations. We designed it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what is and isn’t collected.

The short version

• We do not require an account, name, email or login to use the app.
• We do not use advertising, ad networks, or third-party trackers.
• We do not sell or share personal data.
• Your study progress stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Your reading progress, quiz scores, exam history, bookmarks, missed-question bank, flashcard review schedule and settings are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to us. Deleting the app removes them. You can clear them anytime in Profile → Overall progress → Reset.

If you are signed in to iCloud, your progress may sync across your own devices through Apple’s iCloud (key-value storage) so you can continue where you left off. This data lives in your private iCloud account governed by Apple; we never see it. You can turn this off in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.

Information that leaves your device

Feedback. If you use the in-app feedback form, the message you type — plus the app version and your iOS version — is sent to our feedback inbox through a relay service (Web3Forms, web3forms.com) so we can read and respond. Please don’t include sensitive personal information in feedback, and don’t use it to send health, financial or government-ID information.

Purchases. The courses currently in the app are free, so there are no purchases today. If paid courses are offered in future, any purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store — we never see your payment details, and Apple shares only aggregated, anonymised sales data with us. Anonymous usage analytics (optional). If enabled, the app may send anonymous, aggregate event counts (for example: a lesson was opened, an exam was finished) to help us improve the app. These events contain no names, emails, advertising identifiers or device fingerprints, and cannot be used to identify you. If analytics is not configured, no usage data leaves your device.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily study reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No data is sent to us to deliver it.

Children

The app is intended for aviation-maintenance professionals and students. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

• Turn the daily reminder on/off in Profile → Notifications.
• Reset all local data in Profile → Overall progress → Reset.
• If you ever buy a subscription, manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.

Who is responsible & contact

CAW Academy, operated from the Netherlands, is the party responsible for the limited data described above (the “data controller” under the GDPR). Because the app needs no account and keeps your study data on your device, we hold very little.
